Cuneo is the capital of the Province with the same name and sits in the lower part of Valle Stura where the rivers Gesso and Stura di Demonte meet, both of which have flowed down from the Maritime Alps. The city features wide roads and large piazzas all with beautiful historical buildings. Piazza Galimberti is the main piazza in Cuneo and features a substantial market every Tuesday. Cuneo is the largest province in Piemonte and its economy is largely based on agriculture, food and of course tourism. Both the historical and new parts of Cuneo are truly charming and a must to visit.
